Hand-Drawn Redhead Portrait by Kurstin Marriott

Kurstin Marriott is an talented artist that specializes in portraits. Today we’re going to feature one of her recent portaits of a child.

The portrait we’re featuring today is of a child Kurstin did for a client. Below you’ll find progress shots as well as the finished piece and reference picture;

My favorite part of this portrait is how she captured the freckles in the face while keeping the dimensions on the bridge of the nose. This is a beautifully done piece that I’m sure will be framed for the wall of the subject’s parents.

Talking to Kurstin about her art and career she told me a little bit about her drive and passion;

I draw or paint something almost everyday. When I began drawing I did all my portraits for free. It got me a lot of practice and made me a better artist. I’m at a point in my career where I’d like to step my game up and get even better. I am extremely competitive with my work. I want and expect each piece to be better than the last.Kurstin Marriott
