Quirky Pop Art by Carly Baggins

Carly Baggins is an artist from Australia that has been tattooing for 6 years. What I love about Carly is her unqiue twist on pop culture icons in her drawings and tattoos and that’s why today we’re featuring a collection of her work!

I love Carly’s versatility because it shows a range of skill from simple concepts to complex shading. My favorite of the pieces in this feature is between the Harry Potter drawing and the evolution of Super Mario tattoo for obvious nerd reasoning and because they’re both visually stunning.

While chatting with Carly Baggins I asked her how she comes up with her unique designs and this is what she had to say:

Mostly I just think of an idea and it’s generally something dorky or old so I just try to make it seem a bit more cool! I really enjoy drawing/tattooing pop culture icons from when I was younger – pretty much anything from the 90’s or early 2000’s! Retro Disney is pretty popular right now and I’m having a lot of fun trying to come up with quirky one-off designs of popular Disney characters.Carly Baggins
