Last month we introduced you to the Behind The Keys series, and if you know me, you know I love my hip-hop music and I love giving respect where it’s do. A lot of respect needs to be shown to producers who spend countless hours making music a truly beautiful symphony of art. This month the respect goes to Ben “Billion$” Diehl.
We all love a rag to riches story and when it involves a creative mind, music, and a true passion for the art, I listen up. Ben “Billion$” Diehl has just that story. Starting his life in Delaware, Ben always had an ear for music. Chasing his passion for music he moved out to Florida to attend Full Sail University, were he earned a degree in Audio Engineering. If you kids need a lesson why you should goto school here it is because that degree landed him a internship at Circle House Studios, and it changed his life. He got to meet big names such as Dj Khaled and Rick Ross. It just so happens to be right before Ross blew up, go figure. It’s not all just good luck though. Being an engineer he knows how a track should sound from the get go, that gives Ben Billion$ his clean, crisp, sound that helped him become more then just an engineer from Delaware. It also let him produce some tracks that I absolutely love.
Ben has a knack of making tracks sound momentous, loud, clear, and deep. Nothing shows this more than his track Often produced for The Weeknd. It’s the type of sound that you can vibe out to in any mood. You can meditate to it, close your eyes, and the sound can take you anywhere you want to go. It’s a real classy piece of art. On the other end of the spectrum we have the bass heavy, dirty beat Off The Corner produced for Meek Mill. It’s a bass heavy track, yet still has that nice airy sound to it. This is stuff you can listen to over and over again while being able hear something different every time. You have to respect a true producer who puts in this much hard work.
Ben Billion$ is an incredible producer who deserves every credit and much respect from fans of his music. Following your dreams and being in the right place at the right time helped him become huge. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Ben “Billion$” Diehl next.
